Fike Europe BV
About us
Fike is a globally experienced, trusted global expert in rupture disk technologies, explosion protection, fire alarm systems and fire suppression solutions. Founded in 1945 with headquarters in Blue Springs, Missouri, USA.
In 1984, Fike established its European headquarters in Herentals, Belgium. To date, it is still the only assembly location in the BeNeLux for rupture discs, but also explosion and fire protection.
In addition to our production, we also have our own Fike Academy in Herentals where training is provided to customers, OEMs, EPCs and 3rd parties.
Products & services

Fike Europe Academy
Customized information helps users and designers of installations that require protection against unacceptable overloads to determine the most efficient solution. By providing concise information, focused on the user's area of application, Fike Europe (Herentals;BE) outlines in a pragmatic manner what options are available to users. Due to the years of experience that Fike Europe has, all known situations can be taken into account and it is clearly indicated what options exist to protect an installation. Fike Europe therefore offers a unique formula for training designers and users of overpressure protection. In addition, assembly of Fire, Explosion and Pressure Protection can be demonstrated by means of a tour. As the only manufacturer in the BeNeLux region.

HRD SUPPRESSION CONTAINER
Upon receipt of an activation signal from the Fike EPACO™ explosion protection system, the high rate discharge (HRD) container assembly discharges explosion suppressant powder into the protected volume. The powder chemically extinguishes the combustion reaction preventing pressure increase beyond a predetermined limit.

Explosion Isolation Valve – FAV
Explosion venting and explosion suppression protect process vessels from over pressurization. Explosion isolation keeps explosions from spreading throughout a process. By isolating the explosion, the effect is limited to the equipment where the explosion initially occurred. The Fike Explosion Isolation System proceeds through 3 basic sequences to provide successful activation: detection, initiation and closure of the valve. The explosion isolation valve is the critical element in the sequence of successful explosion isolation. The rapid closure provides the physical barrier, which prevents flame and pressure propagation beyond the isolating valve location

IR Optical Detector
The Fike IR Optical Detectors consist of a photodiode installed into a robust stainless steel housing intended to be installed on ductwork and detect the infrared radiation emitted by a flame or spark passing by.

CEREx™ Explosion Pressure Detectors
Fike CEREx™ Explosion Pressure Detectors are designed to continuously measure the pressures inside the protected hazards. The extremely fast response time of the CEREx™ Pressure Detector allows the EPC to take more than four thousand samples every second. Using the same instantaneous speed, this information is then processed to determine if the pressure change is that of a developing explosion. The CEREx Pressure Detector utilizes a ceramic pressure sensing element. This ceramic element allows the detector to have high overload protection, corrosion resistance, and long-term stability. With ASIC technology, the detector is provided with high accuracy through compensation of linearity and temperature errors.

ELEVATOR APPLICATIONS TYPE ELEGUARD
Bucket elevators are widely used within bulk handling systems where the risk of dust explosions is always present. Fike has developed a series of explosion vents with easy installation features, designed for use on elevator-legs. The EleGuard-range of explosion vents offers an attractive commercial and technical solution to elevator protection. The EleGuard type explosion vent has been designed to comply with the requirements as specified by the ATEX 100a Directive, and is specifically developed to offer explosion venting on bucket elevator applications.

Explosion Isolation Valve VENTEX® ESI
VENTEX explosion protection valve protects plants, employees and the environment from damage in the event of an explosion. The shock wave from an explosion pushes the closing body onto the closing body gasket. The valve is sealed in a closed state and therefore effectively prevents the spread of flames and shock waves. The position of the valve can be transmitted to the control center with a switch.
