Kalkman has been located in Krimpen aan de IJssel, near Rotterdam, since its founding in 1924. Kalkman Machinery has been produced turn key production installations since 1953 including handling equipment, transport installations, curing chambers and production robots. Including in house process automation. Kalkman Projecten applies the knowledge and experience gained in numerous industrial sectors. Its specialisms include the design, construction and assembly of robots, dust extraction installations, vacuum systems and sound enclosures. Kalkman Projecten manages the entire process: from mechanical and electrical engineering to the commissioning of installations. The company is also involved in the service, inspection and maintenance of machines and systems.

PanPac has identified a need to automate the process of removing the kraft out-liner from bags containing milk powder — a process traditionally performed manually in the dairy industry. PanPac’s laser cutting bag opener eliminates repetitive manual tasks and minimizes operator contact with the packaging, contributing to a safer, more efficient, and hygienic production process. Patented technology PanPac has developed a patented technology that uses laser cutting to remove the outer kraft without damaging the PE inner liner. This eliminates the need for maintenance and service of cutting tools such as knives, resulting in a reliable and hygienic solution with minimal service requirements.
