Field Engineer (Emission Control & Heat Recovery)

As a Field Engineer at JOA Air Solutions, you combine hands-on work at industrial production sites with engineering from the Delft office. You perform technical measurements, inspect processes and translate your findings into practical solutions that help leading manufacturers reduce emissions, recover waste heat and improve energy efficiency. Working closely with experienced engineers, you contribute to tailor-made systems for clients such as Nestlé, Cargill, FrieslandCampina and DSM-Firmenich. The role is ideal for a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering graduate (0–3 years' experience) who enjoys both fieldwork and technical problem-solving. You'll gain broad experience in process engineering, emission control, machine building and industrial heat recovery while growing within an employee-owned company that values innovation, teamwork and personal development.

As a Field Engineer at JOA Air Solutions, you bridge industrial reality and engineering. Instead of working only behind a desk, you'll combine office-based engineering with hands-on work at leading manufacturing sites across Europe. Around 75–80% of your time is spent with the engineering team in Delft, while 20–25% is dedicated to site visits throughout the Benelux, DACH region and occasionally beyond.

You'll perform technical measurements, inspect production processes, analyze airflow, dust, vapors and heat streams, and identify opportunities to improve emissions, energy efficiency and process performance. Your findings become the basis for engineering reports, concept designs and tailor-made technical solutions.

You'll contribute to projects involving dust collection systems, industrial scrubbers, vapor extraction, heat exchangers and high-temperature heat pump integration. Together with experienced colleagues, you'll help develop solutions that reduce emissions, recover waste heat, improve safety and lower operational costs for manufacturers in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries.

This role is ideal for Mechanical or Industrial Engineering graduates. You'll develop expertise in process engineering, emission control, industrial ventilation and sustainable energy systems while working on technically challenging projects with measurable environmental impact in an employee-owned company that values innovation, responsibility and personal growth.
